The stallion Neapolitano Nima I, born in 1979, recently turned 40 years old. The horse, who lives at the Spanish riding school in Vienna, is the world’s oldest Lipizzaner stallion registered with LIF (Lipizzaner National Federation). During his active career at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna Neapolitano Nima was a celebrated star.
Under his instructor and rider Andreas Harrer, the exceptional stallion famous and renowed, especially for his looks and performances. Apart from the thick old man’s fur and the usual age-related dental problems, the gray horse is in excellent health condition despite his almost biblical age.
And while Neapolitano Nima I is heading straight for 41, the second generation of his offspring is already in the starting phases to emulate their successful grandfather as a school stallion at the world famous Spanish Riding School. On his 40th birthday, Rudolf Kuzmicki published the book “Neapolitano Nima I – The White Diamond” in recognition of this Century Stallion.
For the author, Neapolitano Nima I is the epitome of the Lipizzan genetic code. Robustness, perseverance, longevity, intelligence, skill and nobility characterize the Lipizzaners from Piber, and in Neapoliano Nima I they have found a world-famous figurehead.
