Abused And Neglected Stallion Couldn’t Stand Up – He Was Rescued And Is Still Recovering

Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue is the place where the whispers of the horses are heard and where horse lovers together can make a difference. At Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue, they don’t just heal the horses physically; they also heal them emotionally. Brenda, the heart of Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue says, “People often ask, “How do you work with all of these abused and untrained horses?”

The Chris Irwin Method of Horsemanship has provided us with the tools to reach deep into the souls of these horses, and the knowledge to work through the fear and trust issues many of them have developed due to human injustice and ignorance.”

In 2012, Brenda achieved the Silver Level of Certification in Chris’ Train the Trainer program. She trains all of the volunteers at WHHR to handle the horses with these techniques. “Whenever you are with a horse, you are training him or her. Education is a key part of the work we do at WHHR to make life better for all horses.” The video shows how an emaciated and neglected stallion was rescued and is recovering at Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue.

Brenda says, “Big Red is a stallion that came to us from cruelty investigation. He was emaciated. He was basically locked in a barn for years. He couldn’t stand, his hoofs were so long, curled up like elves shoes. It was one of the worst cases I had seen and one of the worst cases my vets had seen. He’s been here two months now and he can walk; he walks quite well.” Watch the video for more!
