What you are going to watch in this video is a performance by Sandra Beaulieu and her Friesian horse Douwe called ‘The wings of Isis’. “Until you spread your wings you will have no idea how far you can fly,” and Sandra shows that she has got those wings and she can fly very far away with her Friesian.
As a matter of fact, this is one of my favourite videos of Sandra and Douwe performing together as it was the first time they performed bridleless. These particular wings are taken from the art of bellydancing, referred to as the Wings of Isis.
The video was posted on YouTube and has got hundreds of thousands of views which has also inspired others to perform with their horses. Douwe was fantastic as he felt relaxed and focused all the time. In fact, he feels better bridleless as less is much better with him and enables him to move more freely.
Sandra wishes to share her knowledge and experience with others that desire a more harmonious partnership with their horse. This video is fantastic and wonderful to watch not only because of the amazing performance but also because of the connection Sandra has with her horse.
Not only does it take a great deal of upper body strength to hold one’s arms out for that long time but you also should have complete trust in your horse, which Sandra doesn’t have any doubt about it! Watch and enjoy this amazing performance!
