Since 1998 Germany Prohibited Trimming Horse Whiskers

In Germany trimming horse whiskers and ears it’s forbidden, because is against animal welfare. Recently, a reminder has been sent by Imke-Lubeseder, who is a Secretary-general of the German Equestrian Federation.

He reminded the members of FN that Germany bans trimming , clipping or cutting the vibrissae around the eyes of horses or the hairs inside the ears. According to the German Animal Welfare Law those acts are forbidden!

During horse shows in Germany the German authorities are always present to supervise and control things according to their law. This rule is permitted in many countries and Germany has it since 1998.
