Good News – Canadian Slaughterhouse Closed Because Of EU Regulations

EU regulations are the reason because of which a Canadian slaughterhouse is not working anymore. That is good news for the horse community. The company located in Saint Andre-Avellin, Quebec, was temporarily closed because according to those new rules before the horses are slaughtered, they must be held at a feedlot in Canada for at least 6 months which seriously affects the company!

In order to make some profit, the slaughterhouse must make huge efforts to find horses because the EU regulations effect on the company ability. Some circumstances have changed a lot and that complicated the entire situation.

The company is not collapsed, but as Denis Ferrer said, they have to find a solution as fast as they can. For now, they had to lay off 60 workers and close, because they can no longer slaughter American horses.
