Thanks to Leonardo Montiel a great tradition was brought back to one region of Mexico. This man was determined to bring Mexican dancing horses back to Ahome, Mexico.
It is a great opportunity for children to learn from horses. Moreover, riding and training the horses at a young age helps keep kids out of trouble. As Montiel said, children admire and respect horses and this tradition is a great way to give those children a cultural education!
The advanced dressage routine practiced by Mexican dancing horses requires a good amount of endurance and patience. The results are astounding as you can see from the video footage beneath this text!
There has been controversy over whether or not training Mexican dancing horses is an act of cruelty…trainers must remember that the safety and comfort of the horse are very important. Don’t let your horse become unhappy and always reward him with treats and respect. Enjoy the video!
