A horse archer is able to shoot while riding from horseback. He is a cavalryman armed with a bow combining riding and shooting at the same time. Horse archery has occasionally been used from the backs of other riding animals and it was a highly successful technique for hunting in large open areas. Also, it has been used for protecting the herds and for war.
During antiquity and the medieval period, horse archery was a defining characteristic of the Eurasian nomads as well as the Iranian people and Indians. The practice also spread to Eastern Europe to Mesopotamia, and to East Asia.
Nowadays, horse archery has become a sport and it might be even included in the Olympics. We really admire what those people do because it is incredible to shoot an arrow while you are on the back of a horse. It requires a lot of trust in themselves and their horses in order to combine two difficult sports together. Riding requires a lot of work, same as archery which is hard and takes a lot of practice.
