Working with horses brings happiness, joy, and satisfaction. Unfortunately, it also includes accidents and pain mostly provoked by a human factor. People who get involved with horses must learn the language of these extraordinary animals. You have to read them in order to understand their needs and current condition.
A kick from a horse is not something that you want to experience. It is painful and you might get a serious injury. Horses don’t attack, they defend themselves and that’s why you need to pay attention to their body language because you won’t have time to protect yourself when the accident happens.
In the video footage beneath this text, you will see a horse trainer who didn’t react on time and had to face the consequences. His horse was really uncomfortable and the trainer missed the main indication about that. The horse had pinned ears which was a clear sign that he is annoyed. So, he bit his trainer!
The trainer would probably not get the aggressive behavior if he eased up on the petting, although he has done an amazing job with the horse. We don’t have all the details but it was probably the trainer’s fault. One thing is for sure: horses don’t find petting on their head pleasurable very often. Find out more from the video!
